SPACEX Corporation headed by Pay Pal founder Elon Musk reveal their "Falcon Heavy" Spacecraft plans

The Heavy lift vehicle is anticipated to have 27 rocket engines and could potentially carry 53,000 Kg of cargo to Low Earth Orbit. This is more mass than the space shuttle, topped in mass capability only by the Saturn V rocket which took the apollo astronauts to the moon. The heavy lift vehicle is noted not only for its' shear size but also for its' cost model. On a mostly commercial budget the company has operated at comparitively fractional costs to its' government sponsored counterparts. During a press release Elon mentioned potential for journeys to the moon and even using the vehicle to aid in a mission to Mars.
